Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora enters agreement with Telstra Health
Continuing more than 17 years of legacy providing drug information to support decision making, Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora has entered an agreement with Telstra Health to use Clinical Content managed services at all Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora Districts.
Through Telstra Health’s Clinical Content managed services, Te Whatu Ora will gain access to evidence-based clinical content solutions including, Micromedex, AusDI, DRTC, and more, empowering healthcare professionals with comprehensive drug information and decision-making support via an electronic medicine database, offering in-depth medicines information.
Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora said: “This agreement will continue to enable improved healthcare workflows, ensuring seamless access to critical drug information and supporting confident and timely decision-making among healthcare providers, ultimately enhancing patient care outcomes.”

Through MedicalDirector, acquired by Telstra Health in 2021, Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora has used Clinical Content managed services for almost 20 years to provide clinical resources to healthcare professionals.
Clinical Content was originally used by all District Health Boards in New Zealand before expanding to the New Zealand Hospital Pharmacy Association in 2010 to enhance accessibility.
On 1 December 2023, the contract for managing access transitioned under Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora, marking a new phase in the provision of essential clinical content solutions.
