More streamlined experience for partner integrators:

Partner integrators are all too familiar with the existing challenges of bespoke integrations across different health platforms. Smart API+ will help address these challenges by standardising the language of data exchange and, when coupled with the flexibility and uniformity of the Smartbar for the user interface experience, will pave the way for a future of single-build integrations that are independent of release cycles and technologies of underlying platforms so that new capability can be deployed and modified efficiently.

Secure and seamless data access:

Leveraging FHIR® and API technology, practices and integrators will find data exchange more secure and standardised. Existing practices of data exchange using agents and SQL queries that open entire practice databases to third parties creates risk. Smart API+ offers seamless, secure access points that ensure only certain information is accessed for particular purposes through a system that provides control and the ability to monitor data access.

Enhanced user experience of partner capability:

When coupled with Telstra Health’s Smart Connected Care capability, clinicians and managers will be able to access integrated web-based partner applications regardless of whether their patient management system is in the cloud or on-premises. Partner applications using Smart API+ and Smart Connected Care will provide an intuitive in-platform experience without requiring multiple logins, ensuring users can access and use new technology easily and securely.

Smile Digital Health

Telstra Health’s partnership with Smile Digital Health will bring Smile’s HL7® FHIR® first Health Data Platform solution and integration platform to Australia and New Zealand. Smile Digital Health technology underpins Telstra Health’s Health Information Exchange to facilitate the exchange of patient information across different healthcare organisations and systems for large customers or geographic regions, with potential for commonwealth, state or territory governments, large private hospital groups or private health insurers.
