ITAC 2025: Innovation Transforming Aged Care

The ITAC (Innovation Transforming Aged Care) conference in Melbourne brought together industry leaders, innovators, and aged care professionals to explore how technology and data-driven insights are reshaping the sector.

Key themes included:

  • The role of leadership in driving technological advancements
  • The integration of data insights and research to enable new care models
  • Strategies to improve care quality and operational efficiency

A major discussion point was the new Aged Care Act, with strong interest from our delegates in Telstra Health’s groundbreaking assessment forms within Clinical Manager. This innovative tool is already making an impact, helping aged care providers seamlessly adapt to regulatory changes and improve resident care.

Leaders Summit 2025: The Future of Aged Care

Held in Sydney, the Leaders Summit tackled some of the biggest challenges and opportunities in aged care, with a strong focus on demographic shifts and the changing expectations of baby boomers.

Key themes included:

  • Population changes and care models: The baby boomer generation is the wealthiest cohort in history and will demand more flexible aged care options, preferring to remain at home rather than moving into traditional facilities.
  • Hospital to Home Care: With advancements in healthcare technology and policy, care delivery will increasingly shift towards home-based models, enabling people to receive hospital-level care without relocating.
  • New financial models: Changes in the Aged Care Act will introduce more flexible funding arrangements, allowing providers to invest and allocate bond money differently. This unexpected shift will drive innovation in service delivery and aged care business models.

Both ITAC and the Leaders Summit reinforced the urgent need for adaptable, tech-enabled solutions to meet the evolving needs of an ageing population. Telstra Health remains at the forefront of these discussions, providing the tools and insights needed to shape the future of aged care.
