We're delighted you want to participate in the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health Awards.
This document is our 'terms and conditions'. If you want to participate in the recognition program, you'll need to adhere to a few things that we've outlined for you below.
As with any fair competition, if you don't comply with these terms, we have the right to disqualify you or declare your entry ineligible so it's important to take note of these terms.
Here’s the nitty-gritty
The 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health are conducted by Telstra Health Pty Ltd, ABN 38 163 077 236 of Level 3, 222 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne Vic 3000– referred to in these terms as “Telstra Health”, “we”, “us” and “our”.
One last thing – any reference to "you" or "your" includes you in your personal capacity.
Who can enter?
In order to enter the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health, you need to:
Be working or studying in the field of Digital Health, either within technology, healthcare, or a combination of the two
You also won’t be able to enter if we have a financial interest in your business. Lastly, we encourage all people who identify as women to apply, regardless of your gender at birth.
How do you enter?
Instructions on how to enter, the report and the process for judging is set out at bcw.awardsforce.com. These sections also form part of the terms.
Entries must be submitted by 13 June 2022. You must complete the form and anything you include in your entry form must be true and correct.
To enter, you need to:
Submit a complete entry at bcw.awardsforce.com by the nomination deadline
Be willing to be featured in the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health report when it is published, and to attend the launch event if possible (this can be virtually or in person if you are based in Sydney, Melbourne or TBD Perth.
Now for the hard stuff. We can make your entry ineligible or disqualify you if we think you or your business is involved in any activity that is illegal, fraudulent, can cause harm to us and our reputation, or if you provide any false or misleading information. If this happens, we can withdraw your name and details if you are selected as one of the 25 women who will be profiled as part of the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health report and any associated communications. We may also ask that you no longer promote yourself and/or your business as being associated with 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health. This clause survives the expiration of the Period.
That’s a mouthful we know! But make sure you read those conditions carefully as we take the integrity of our program seriously.
This is a game of skill only. There is no element of chance in determining the winners. The final 25 women will be selected by the judges based on the following broad criteria which recognises:
technical expertise or contribution, with significant impact, in the health sector, aged care sector, or health and medical research sector
emerging leaders influencing or being accountable for digital transformation.
making a positive impact supporting other women in the sector through mentorship or upskilling
nominee has demonstrated innovation in developing unique solution/s to address problems or opportunities
impact and influence in the digital industry - we want to hear about the work you do within your organisation and in the broader digital community
success in establishing and / or championing a digital vision or innovation.
The independent judges have been appointed to represent a cross section of individuals with knowledge and experience of Australia’s digital health sector. The judges volunteer their time and participate in a personal capacity.
Please be aware that the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health Awards is purely a recognition initiative where we will profile the 25 women who our judges determine as most successfully meeting the entry criteria. Therefore, there will be no monetary prize received.
Instead, the 25 women who are selected will be profiled in a report which we will publish to recognise them and to celebrate their achievements. All 25 women will also be invited to awards events in their closest Australian city - Melbourne, Sydney or (TBD) Perth on the evening of Thursday 13 October.
The 25 winners will be flown to the closest award event by Telstra Health (if they do not already reside there) and will be provided with one night’s hotel accommodation (again, for those who do not already reside there). Any other reasonable travel expenses (as decided by us) will also be reimbursed if appropriate proof of purchase such as a tax invoice or receipt is provided.
The events will comply with any COVID-19 restrictions in the city at the time.
We do not provide feedback on entries. We may review publicly available information regarding you including on websites, social media and in media activity in assessing and judging your entry.
If you are selected as one of the 25 women for our report, you may be invited to participate in promotional appearances during the period to promote the initiative. We may use your comments, image and name for advertising and publicity purposes in any media in perpetuity without compensation.
If you are selected as one of the 25 women, we will endeavour to give you at least seven calendar days’ notice of the time, date and location of each Promotional Appearance you are required at, and the party requesting the appearance will pay your reasonable travel and accommodation expenses.
In any promotion or endorsement of the Brilliant Women in Digital Health, you should only express opinions that are genuinely held by you.
What do we do with your information?
We collect basic personal information (as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)) in various ways, such as in the entry form, on judging days, and in speeches and interactions with the support team, in order to administer the 2021 Brilliant Women in Digital Health.
If you do not provide the personal information as requested, unfortunately you cannot participate in the program. All entries become our property.
Your personal information can also be disclosed to our related entities, business partners, agencies, and other third parties engaged to provide services in connection with the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health, in order to:
Market to you in any way (including by email, SMS/MMS, mail, social media and telephone (even if your phone number is registered on the Do Not Call Register), including contacting you after the Period ends about our Products & Services;
You agree that your consent continues with us unless otherwise withdrawn. If you wish to withdraw your consent to receive marketing material from us, call us on 1800 039 059.
The 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health initiative uses the Award Force platform for nominations and judging. The Award Force application is GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant.
By entering the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health initiative you consent to us using the Award Force platform to store your data.
How do we get the word out?
We want the world to know about you and your work in digital health. So, by entering this initiative, you agree that during and after the Period, you will participate and co-operate as required with all reasonable marketing activities of you and your business, relating to the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health initiative, including but not limited to being interviewed, videoed, and photographed.
We may use your comments, image, details about you and your company if relevant (including logo and details), the contents of your entry form and any other materials supplied by you, in connection with your entry to the initiative or the promotion of the initiative (together, the Materials) in any media in perpetuity without compensation.
By entering the initiative, you grant to us on creation of the Materials a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, exclusive and irrevocable license to use the Materials for purposes we choose in our sole discretion and that we may license, authorise or otherwise transfer the rights in the Materials to others to do the same. We may duplicate, alter, adapt and utilise the Materials at any time.
You’ll also need to unconditionally consent to all acts being done that would otherwise infringe any of your moral rights (as defined in Part IX of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth)) in the Materials and any present and future rights of a similar nature conferred by statute anywhere in the world whether occurring before or after this consent is given. You agree not to institute, maintain or support any claim or proceeding for infringement of your Moral Rights in the Materials.
The small print
You will at all times indemnify, keep indemnified, defend and hold harmless us and our respective officers, employees and agents (Indemnified Persons), from and against any loss (including reasonable legal costs and expenses).
We will not hold any liability incurred by any of the Indemnified Persons arising from any claim, demand, suit, action or proceeding by any person against any of the Indemnified Persons where such loss or liability arose out of, in connection with or in respect of any breach of these Terms by you, and use of the Material and/or information supplied by you under these Terms.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss (including indirect and consequential loss) or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the 2021 Brilliant Women in Digital Health initiative, including the supply of goods or services by any person to you, and where applicable to any persons accompanying you.
The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
We accept no responsibility for any tax liabilities that may arise from your participation in the initiative.
We have the right to alter or cancel part or all of the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health at any time without notice to you.
By entering the initiative, you agree to submit to the laws of New South Wales and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that place and the courts of appeal from them.
