The Challenge
Lymphoma Australia engaged Telstra Health to work with them to consider how they could expand their services to further empower patients and have a bigger impact on their lives. They required support to demonstrate the impact of the work they already deliver, whilst also considering their vision for the future and what their priorities should be.
A significant driver for this work was the need to articulate the value that Lymphoma Australia offers in relation to patient support, to guide the organisation in its conversation with policy makers to assist in securing continued funding for important initiatives for Lymphoma, patients, their families and treating teams.
As a small organisation Lymphoma Australia have a finite number of resources, which restricts their capacity to support patients, families and treating teams.
The Solution
Telstra Health delivered a paper that articulated the impact of the work Lymphoma Australia currently delivers to patients, families and treating teams across
Australia; as well as the future vision for patient support services, centred around five strategic priorities. In delivering the paper Telstra Health engaged with Lymphoma Australia through a series of engagement activities, including:
- A design workshop – focused on articulating the vision, priorities and high-level plan for the future.
- A lived experience patient advisory committee – where lymphoma patients shared their journeys and experiences.
Based on the information and insights from these engagement activities Telstra Health delivered a paper for Lymphoma Australia that articulates five strategic priorities, each underpinned by tangible actions which will enable Lymphoma Australia to expand and prove their impact whilst continuing to deliver in a sustainable manner.
The Outcomes
Lymphoma Australia has a clear vision for the future of it’s work to empower lymphoma patients, their families and carers; underpinned by clear strategic priorities and the actions required to deliver that vision. This has already been used to inform a funding request to the Commonwealth Government; and will be used to shape planning and fundraising activities across the organisation.
